Assalammualaikum and hello everyone.

Alhamdullilah, finally I can complete my e-portfolio for ICT courses for science successfully. Although this is just normal education blog but I'm very satisfied because during the production of this blog I have many challenges as this is my first blog. Before this, I've only just know what is blog, but I've never tried it. When we are required to produce this educational blog, I doubt whether I can deliver the knowledge that I have gained throughout my study in UPSI successfully. The duration of 14 weeks provided is enough for me to gain more knowledge to produce a good education blog.

Here I would like to express my gratitude to my lecturer En Azmi for his guidance and advice that I think is very useful in order to produce a quality blog and meet all the criteria set. Not forgetting friends who are always help and support me. They do help a lot to guide and give encouragement and advice in making this blog successful. Learning Information and Communication Technology in Science (ICT) subject give many knowledge for the students like me. In this subject, we learn about the paint, windows movie maker, data logging, interactive whiteboard and also stella software. Most of this lessons is something new for me because before this I not really interested in ICT. To be able to know all this things really help in my study. For example, learning about the paint. I can now edit my own picture or image acccording to my interest.

Other than that, ICT has an application of modern technology to interact and share the useful information among people at different fields and we can develop science through the technology. For me, the benefit of learning the ICT is to help people increase their knowledge in developing the education which this knowledge can be share and transfer to other people. And as the educators, we can apply how to teach a student in a creative way like for example using a simulation. This technology does bring benefit to us but it is according to us how to use all the technology provided correctly. I hope that with the creation of this educational blog, it can give a bit of knowledge to the readers. And once again, thank you to En Azmi for all his guidance in making this blog. Thank you.

Interactive whiteboard

In this post, I would like to share about the interactive whiteboard that I learn during my ICT class.

The Whiteboard is an information board with a built-in touch panel that allows direct contact with images projected on the board.Interactive whiteboards are used in many schools as replacements for traditional whiteboards or flipcharts. They provide ways to show students any thing which can be presented on a computer's desktop (educational software, web sites, and others). In addition, interactive whiteboards allow teachers to record their instruction and post the material for review by students at a later time. This can be a very effective instructional strategy for students who benefit from repetition, who need to see the material presented again, for students who are absent from school, for struggling learners, and for review for examinations.

· As a discussion tool

· As a panel exhibit tool at exhibitions

The unique three-dimensional touch panel allows processing not only in the X and Y directions, but of pressure as well. The magnification function allows you to zoom in and out with the touch of a single finger. No more need to press special buttons to zoom or to center images. When you press the area you want to magnify, the pressure controls the zoom rate. That’s all. I hope you will gain something from this post.

Data logging

Next, I would like to show what is the meaning of data logger. I hope this post will give benefit to you all. Let's enjoy reading.

Data logger is one of the technology that been used in conducting the science experiments in the school. It is used to store the data which includes many data acquistion devices such as plug in boards or serial communication systems that use a computer as a real time data recording system. The data that been stored could be pressure, current, temperature, light intensity, soil moisture and resistance. It is compact, battery powered devices equipped with an internal microprocessor, data storage and sensors. There are three different type of data logger which are stand- alone data logger, web- based data logger and wireless data logger.

The advantages using the data loggers is that they can operate independently of a computer unlike many other types of data acquisition devices. If we using the data longger, the chance of having an error is less. This is because the measurement of the data is always taken at the right time. Other than that, when we used the data logger, mistakes are not made in reading the results compare to the human that often make an errors in this experiment. Example that we can see is sometimes we are easy to misread the temperature using the scale on a thermometer. Therefore, if we use data logger doing the experiment, we can ignore the error that occur when taking the reading of the temperature. In addition, we also can produced graphs and tables of the results of the experiment automatically by the data logging software. This will save the time where we need to plot for ourself the graph and table that we need in the experiment conducted.
